==== Source 2007 ==== The Source 2007 branch represented a full upgrade of the Source engine for the release of The Orange Box. An artist-driven, threaded particle system replaced previously hard-coded effects for all of the games within. An in-process tools framework was created to support it, which also supported the initial builds of Source Filmmaker. In addition, the facial animation system was made hardware-accelerated on modern video cards for "feature film and broadcast television" quality. The release of The Orange Box on multiple platforms allowed for a large code refactoring, which let the Source engine take advantage of multiple CPU cores. Calvo Sotelo did not manage to stop the internal crisis of UCD ─ the "critical sector" led by Miguel Herrero y Rodríguez de Miñón and Oscar Alzaga approached Alianza Popular and the "social democratic sector" led by Francisco Fernández Ordóñez approached PSOE ─ which was aggravated by the defeat in the Galician elections of October 1981, in which the centrists were overtaken by Alianza Popular. Calvo Sotelo then tried to recompose the unity of the party by personally assuming the presidency of the party and reshuffling his government, in which the "strong man" became the vice-president Rodolfo Martín Villa, but at the beginning of 1982, the "flight" of deputies to Alianza Popular began. In May, UCD suffered a new setback in the Andalusian autonomic elections, in which the PSOE obtained the absolute majority and Alianza Popular again surpassed UCD in votes. Then Landelino Lavilla took over the presidency of the party but also failed to stop the "bleeding of splits". The Christian Democrats founded a new party, the Partido Demócrata Popular, and even Suárez left UCD to form his own, the Centro Democrático y Social. Faced with this situation, a broken and disbanded party, Calvo Sotelo dissolved the Cortes in August 1982 and called general elections.

=== Peru === The travelers gradually descended into the cinchona forests and former Inca territories. In Riobamba, they stayed with Montufar’s brother, where Humboldt accessed rare sixteenth-century manuscripts written in an extinct dialect and later translated into Spanish. These documents described pre-conquest events and the major eruption of Nevado de Altar volcano, which affected nearby towns with ash for seven years. Traveling from Riobamba to Cuenca across the Paramo of Azuay, Humboldt studied the remains of the Inca road, notable for its precise porphyry paving and straightness, comparable to Roman roads, leading to Cuzco. He also visited the ruins of Inca Tapayupangi’s palace and its summer house carved from rock, which offered impressive views and prompted Humboldt to admire Inca public works. Southward, the group had to ford the Rio Guancabamba, a tributary of the Amazon, twenty-seven times. Although not wide, the river’s strong current endangered their mules, which carried important collections. Humboldt described the anxiety of watching their passage. Further along, he observed the local postal system known as “el correo que nada,” where a messenger swam downstream with mail secured in a cotton handkerchief, sometimes using a balsa log to rest and stopping at huts for food and shelter. === Post‑marketing surveillance and safety signals === Following the launch of the once‑monthly paliperidone palmitate formulation (Xeplion) in Japan on 19 November 2013, the Early Post‑Marketing Phase Vigilance (EPPV) system detected a signal of increased mortality: 32 deaths were reported among an estimated 11,000 patients during the six‑month EPPV period. The most common causes of death were sudden cardiac death (12 confirmed and 4 suspected cases), suicide (7 cases), and neuroleptic malignant syndrome (4 cases). Of the 32 deaths, 59.4% were in patients over 50 years of age, 71.9% had cardiovascular risk factors, and 78.1% were receiving antipsychotic polypharmacy. Earlier in the EPPV period, in April 2014, it had been reported that 21 Japanese people who had received shots of the long-acting injectable paliperidone palmitate had died, out of 10,700 individuals prescribed the drug. An observational study of the French pharmacovigilance database identified 13 deaths and 14 life‑threatening events among 473 paliperidone palmitate-related adverse drug reaction reports between 1 January 2013 and 31 December 2019. The reactions were primarily cardiorespiratory, with cardiac arrests and sudden unexpected deaths often occurring 10–14 days after a once‑monthly injection (or 11–24 days after a three‑monthly injection), consistent with peak plasma drug levels, leading the authors to hypothesize that supratherapeutic drug levels may underlie these events.
